An Instagram influencer model who built a massive following on social media<\/a> says she\u2019s now a millionaire through her social media career. <\/p>\n

According to The U.S. Sun<\/a>, millionaire Instagram influencer model Alexa Collins, of Miami, said she dropped out of college at age 21 to pursue her modeling dreams. <\/p>\n

That decision has app<\/a>arently paid dividends, with 1.2 million followers on Instagram, a million in the bank and a deluxe pad with a pool.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a millionaire now, I made my first $1m right before I hit a million followers, that felt pretty awesome,\u201d Collins said in a recent interview. <\/p>\n

\u201cI started to create a little fan base of both men and women. From the minute I wake up at 7.30am, I spend the whole day on social media \u2013 I\u2019m always very busy.<\/p>\n

I dropped out of college & made $1m on Instagram by 25 \u2013 I bought a four-bed house with a pool & now celebs chat me up<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cMy boyfriend Tom and I have even bought a house together. It\u2019s a four-bedroom home, we have a pool in the backyard. It\u2019s really nice and it\u2019s our first home, so we\u2019re excited,\u201d she told The Sun.<\/p>\n

The millionaire influencer model says she first launched her Instagram in 2014 and began treating it like a full-fledged business soon after.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the time I didn\u2019t see it as a full-time job, I always thought it would be something on the side \u2014 but I knew Instagram was the way things were going to go,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

According to The Daily Star<\/a>, she faced pushback from her family when she attempted to pursue modeling online as her career.<\/p>\n

As Alexa\u2019s platform grew to a huge size, she bagged business deals with huge brands like PrettyLittleThing, Urban Decay and Blue Ice Vodka.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were set on me going to school, but I told them \u2018guys you have to listen to me, understand this is the new age and what I\u2019m going to do,’\u201d the now-millionaire Instagram influencer model said.<\/p>\n

Collins said anyone interested in working as an influencer should be aware of a few things.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou need about 50,000 followers to start making money, that\u2019s when you become a micro-influencer,\u201d Collins said, explaining she grew her following by \u201cposting more about my life, my routine, how I go to photo shoots and create content.\u201d<\/p>\n

Collins spoke with Business Insider<\/a> last year as well, documenting how she pitches her following and brand to businesses for sponsorship opportunities, and explaining how she built a media kit tailored to her strengths.<\/p>\n

With 1.2 million followers on Instagram and over\u00a0400,000 TikTok fans, Collins now works with the talent management agency Johnson Sports Entertainment, which also represents NFL players and professional golfers, to secure deals with brands.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI started this a while ago, and it takes a really long time to build a following on an app,\u201d the Instagram influencer model turned millionaire said. \u201cI work with a lot of clothing and swimwear and makeup and hair brands. A lot of girly stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMost brands now are putting together deals where they\u2019ll be like, \u2018Our deal will be two [Instagram] posts and one TikTok, or two [Instagram] posts and one YouTube video,’\u201d Collins said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re doing bundles now because they want to take advantage of each platform.\u201d<\/p>\n

Social media influencers like OnlyFans model Belle Delphine have also reported recent financial success from their online followings, with Delphine reportedly making $1.2 million a month off her platforms.<\/p>\n

Delphine noted that she will continue down the road for as long as it\u2019s profitable, noting that her success on OnlyFans is not the norm by any standard.<\/p>\n
