All because of a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube<\/a> channel mind you!<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-24533\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.resetera.com\/threads\/hogwarts-legacy-lead-designer-is-troy-leavitt-a-game-developer-who-used-to-make-anti-feminist-and-pro-gamer-gate-videos-see-staff-post-added.381606\/page-17#post-59341475\"><mark class=\"kt-highlight\">In a statement published<\/mark><\/a> on Tuesday, Resetera\u2019s mod team said that the unrepentant views of both Leavitt and Rowling had forced it into \u201ca uniquely awful situation.\u201d<br \/><em>\u201cThe team has talked it over at length and as a result, we\u2019ve decided to implement a total ban on threads for promotional media for the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>,\u201d it said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThis means there will be no threads for trailers or official announcements, no hype threads, no fluff pieces about its features. It\u2019s not just one bigoted game designer that made the difference here. JK Rowling\u2019s singular reach and influence, how closely that influence is tied to the Harry Potter IP, and what she chooses to do with that power, is a unique problem on top of this latest controversy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe\u2019re going to revisit whether to have an OT much closer to the game\u2019s release. Learning from what h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened with Cyberpunk, if there is an OT, it will have a text-only OP created by staff that lays out the controversy with the game and IP. The main reason to have an OT at all is the same one we\u2019ve articulated before: Some minority members want a space to discuss the game\u2019s contents where they will not be shouted down by bigots.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>All of this for a game and because <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Doctor_Cupcakes\/status\/1362919930698596360\/photo\/1\">journalist Liam Roberston<\/a>\u00a0posted a Twitter thread highlighting that\u00a0<em>Hogwarts Legacy<\/em>\u00a0lead designer Troy Leavitt once kept a YouTube channel full of far-right content. Honestly, the game hasn\u2019t even come out yet, nor put out anything remotely close to what these guys are referring to so this crazy hate train is unwarranted. This Cyberpunk 2077 all over again.<\/p>\n<p>Yeah, I know that many people have had an issue with J.K. Rowling\u2019s trans opinions in the past, but this is taking it to an extreme. It\u2019s the very definition of bigotry when it comes to other people\u2019s beliefs and opinions and the irony is they can\u2019t see it. We are really living in a timeline where people\u2019s common sense is at an all-time low, and emotions are over 9000! I don\u2019t want to be mean, I get to some degree that they want to be on the right side of things, but still, the ramifications of this ban are deadly to future titles. What if the next game, we find out that someone on the team thinks that modern feminism is horrible and toxic? Will that game also be banned too?  Where do we even draw the line for logic here?<\/p>\n<p>If this ends up having a domino effect and other platforms for games follow suit, it could lead to the WB outright canceling the game to avoid any potential loss in revenue. It would send a terrible message and give power to the wrong types of people. The discussion on wether it is ethical to put money in the pocket of someone you don\u2019t like is crazy, since thousands of product consumed today was likely made by someone who you may not agree with politically or otherwise!
