“#Helado Negro Covers David Bowie\u2019s \u201cSound and Vision\u201d: Listen<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Last month, British record label BBE Music<\/a> \u00a0announced their David Bowie tribute album Modern Love<\/em>. Now, Helado Negro has shared his offering from the compilation: a cover of Bowie\u2019s 1977 Low<\/em> song \u201cSound and Vision.\u201d Check it out below.<\/p>\n

Modern Love<\/em> arrives May 28 and features covers from across Bowie\u2019s catalog by Khruangbin, Jeff Parker, Meshell Ndegeocello, and more. \u201cThe cover I imagined was something living in between sleep and awake where sound and vision dominate,\u201d Helado Negro said of his recording in a press release. \u201cResidue from your dream state mixed in with waking up and stirring into what the day will be.\u201d<\/p>\n

Upon announcing Modern Love<\/em>, BBE shared its first single: We Are KING\u2019s cover of \u201cSpace Oddity.\u201d The tribute project aims to highlight Bowie\u2019s connection with the soul, R&B, jazz, funk, and gospel sounds that influenced his own work.<\/p>\n
