“#Jlin Remixes Marie Davidson and L\u2019\u0152il Nu: Listen<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Last year, Marie Davidson, Pierre Guerineau, and Asa\u00ebl R. Robitaille formed a new trio called Marie Davidson & L\u2019\u0152il Nu. Songs from their debut album, Renegade Breakdown<\/em>, will now get the remix treatment, starting with a Jlin rework of \u201cC\u2019est parce que j\u2019m\u2019en fous.\u201d Check it out below. The remix series<\/a>, released via Ninja Tune<\/a>, will also feature Young Marco, Morgan Geist, and other remixers to be announced.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Marie Davidson and L\u2019\u0152il Nu have also announced Renegade Breakdown Live, a one-off livestream capturing their first ever live performance. It will be shot by experimental Quebecois filmmaker Denis C\u00f4t\u00e9, who said in a press release, \u201cIt is a refreshing novelty in my career to be app<\/a>roached to film such a freeform concert. For the concept, I imagined the performance as a laboratory experiment. Without completely turning my back on the festive aspects, I favored something a little colder, which leads to a certain purity of the act of watching a concert.\u201d The results, say the band, are \u201cas eerie and honest as it can get.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of the Jlin remix, Davidson added in a press release: \u201cWe\u2019ve all been appreciators of Jlin\u2019s work in the band, and it\u2019s a huge honour to have her remixing our music. \u2018C\u2019est parce que \u2019m\u2019en fous\u2019 is a track that talks about the concepts of femininity and feminism as opposed to calculated feminism, and I could not have wished for a better remixer. Thank you Jlin for this killer track!\u201d<\/p>\n
