Actress and #MeToo activist Rose McGowan is calling for an investigation into Gov. Andrew Cuomo following sexual harassment accusations from a former aide.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Fox News<\/a> Thursday, McGowan said she believed Lindsey Boylan, who came forward this week to allege that Cuomo kissed her \u201con the lips\u201d without warning inside his Manhattan office and created a culture that encouraged harassment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI completely stand by Lindsey Boylan. Its truth leaks from every word on the screen that she wrote. She, none of us, should endure what she endured,\u201d the actress-turned-activist told the network. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf they\u2019re doing it to her, what are they doing to constituents? What is he going to do to what he considers the little people? It\u2019s monstrous.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

McGowan went on to call for an independent investigation into the matter, adding that ensuring honesty was paramount to prevent the issue from being sidelined over politics.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s time for some goddamn\u00a0honesty. Sometimes truth hurts and it\u2019s not pretty but guess what? We get cleaned,\u201d she said, going on to reference Tara Reade, the former Senate staffer of Joe Biden who accused him during the 2020 Democratic primary of assault when she worked for him.<\/p>\n

Biden has denied the allegations.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook what happ<\/a>ened to Tara Reade,\u201d McGowan said, \u201cLook what they\u2019ve done to me. These are powerful predators but it is so important that all of us remember we have power too.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to see an honest investigation. I would like that position of power to be filled by somebody who is not dangerous and a bully and intimidating and threatening because that\u2019s what sexual harassment is. It\u2019s power abuse. It\u2019s trying to make the little person feel small.\u201d<\/p>\n

The governor has denied Boylan\u2019s accusations.<\/p>\n

Boylan, who is running for Manhattan borough president, first accused the governor of harassment in December. <\/p>\n

This week, as he faces continued accusations of threatening, bully-like behavior, Boylan published an essay on Medium<\/a> detailing her allegations \u2014 including the kiss claim.<\/p>\n

Boylan said that incident took place after her 2018 promotion to be Cuomo\u2019s deputy secretary for economic development and special advisor to the governor \u2014 a job she initially turned down \u201cbecause I didn\u2019t want to be near him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cuomo has also faced a wave of scrutiny following The Post\u2019s recent revelation that top aide Melissa DeRosa\u00a0privately admitted\u00a0his administration\u00a0hid the total number\u00a0of nursing home residents killed by COVID-19 from lawmakers, and the public over fear that federal prosecutors would use it \u201cagainst us.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Post\u2019s scoop has\u00a0sparked calls\u00a0for Cuomo to be impeached and a\u00a0probe by the FBI\u00a0and Brooklyn US Attorney\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

In a prepared statement issued this week, Cuomo press secretary Caitlin Girouard said, \u201cAs we said before, Ms. Boylan\u2019s claims of inappropriate behavior are quite simply false.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
