“#’Outlander’ EP Is ‘Optimistic’ About a Season 7 Renewal and a Possible Spinoff<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Outlander<\/em> fans may have to wait a while until Season 6 arrives, but executive producer Ronald D. Moore is giving them hopes for Season 7 and more.<\/p>\n

Following Season 3 of the hit Starz series<\/a>\u2019 run, Outlander<\/em> was renewed for Seasons 4, 5, and 6, which leaves viewers wondering if it will return beyond the upcoming sixth chapter. Thankfully, after chatting with The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a>, Ronald D. Moore is putting fans minds at ease.<\/p>\n

\u201cConversations are underway on both Season 7 and on a spinoff and I think we\u2019re going to have good news<\/a> on both those fronts before too long so I feel very optimistic about it,\u201d Moore told THR<\/em>. While Starz will be the deciding factor, with official announcements yet to be made, Moore\u2019s words are encouraging.<\/p>\n

Last year Starz exec Jeffrey Hirsch hinted that more seasons and spinoff series were a strong possibility, and it\u2019s not surprising considering the romantic fantasy drama series\u2019 popularity. Based on Diana Gabaldon\u2019s book series, Outlander<\/em>\u2018s source material expands far beyond the currently ordered seasons.<\/p>\n

And there\u2019s been repeated rumblings over a Lord John Grey (David Berry) spinoff as Gabaldon\u2019s written a collection of novellas on the favorite character. \u201cI think both those things are probably going to happ<\/a>en and hopefully we\u2019ll be able to say something about it before too long,\u201d Moore added on the topic.<\/p>\n

Considering the excitement over Outlander<\/em>\u2018s first looks at Season 6, an announcement as Moore hints, is hopefully around the corner. Whether or not the spinoff Moore refers to is about Lord John Grey or not, this news is certainly worth getting excited about.<\/p>\n
