Leading female Democratic pols largely stayed silent Thursday on the sexual harassment allegations against Gov. Andrew Cuomo \u2014 even though some have been outspoken on the subject in the past.<\/p>\n

New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand was among the elected officials who didn\u2019t respond to requests for comment on the claims made by former Cuomo aide Lindsey Boylan.<\/p>\n

Gillibrand\u2019s reluctance to weigh in on the escalating scandal came despite having advocated a \u201czero-tolerance\u201d policy that helped force Democrat Al Franken of Minnesota to resign his Senate seat in 2017.<\/p>\n

Vice President Kamala Harris, who also called on Franken to resign when she was a senate colleague from California, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the usually voluble Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-The Bronx, Queens) were also mum following inquiries from The Post.<\/p>\n

Former New York senator and failed 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton didn\u2019t respond to a similar request for comment, Fox News reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-Manhattan) issued a prepared statement in which she said, \u201cAll survivors of harassment and assault deserve to be heard and\u2026have their case thoroughly investigated.\u201d<\/p>\n

By contrast, she tweeted<\/a> \u201c#BelieveWomen\u201d in support of Christine Blasey Ford during Senate confirmation hearings over Brett Kavanaugh\u2019s successful, 2018 nomination to the US Supreme Court.<\/p>\n

Boylan on Wednesday accused Cuomo of kissing her \u201con the lips\u201d without warning in 2018 and saying, \u201cLet\u2019s play strip<\/a>\u201d poker during an October 2017 flight on his official state jet.<\/p>\n

The claims added detail to allegations she first made in a series<\/a> of tweets in December.<\/p>\n

At that time, Cuomo denied the accusations as \u201cjust not true.\u201d<\/p>\n

He hasn\u2019t personally addressed her latest allegations, but his his press secretary, Caitlin Girouard, said Wednesday, \u201cAs we said before, Ms. Boylan\u2019s claims of inapp<\/a>ropriate behavior are quite simply false.\u201d<\/p>\n

Girouard also released a joint statement from four current and former aides \u2013 John Maggiore, Howard Zemsky, Dani Lever and Abbey Fashouer Collins \u2014 who she said joined Cuomo for the Oct. 2017 flights on which Boylan was also a passenger.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were on each of these October flights and this conversation did not happen,\u201d the statement said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
