Next week, the CBS All Access streaming service will morph into Paramount+. As part of trying to attract new subscribers, Paramount+ has announced plans for numerous reboots and revivals but one is being left behind. The latest incarnation of The Twilight Zone<\/em> has been cancelled. There won\u2019t be a third season of the revival hosted by Jordan Peele.<\/p>\n

Created and hosted by Rod Serling, The Twilight Zone<\/em> series premiered in 1959 on CBS and ran for five seasons. The anthology show takes viewers \u201cto another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound, but of mind.\u201d The series became a worldwide phenomenon and continues to be an inspiration for pushing the boundaries of storytelling. Twilight Zone<\/em> has been revived three times over the years with limited success.<\/p>\n

Developed by Simon Kinberg, Marco Ramirez, and Peele, the CBS All Access version debuted in April 2019, and episodes of the first season were released weekly. The Twilight Zone<\/em> was renewed for a second season and those episodes were released in one batch, in June 2020.<\/p>\n

Like the original series, this incarnation attracted a wide array of actors. Over the 20 episodes, the show\u2019s performers have included Morena Baccarin, Ike Barinholtz, Zazie Beetz, Kylie Bunbury, John Cho, Lucinda Dryzek, Jenna Elfman, Ethan Embry, Taissa Farmiga, Sky Ferreira, James Frain, Betty Gabriel, Tavi Gevinson, Ginnifer Goodwin, Zabryna Guevara, Topher Grace, Tony Hale, Percy Hynes-White, Gillian Jacobs, Greg Kinnear, Luke Kirby, David Krumholtz, Sanaa Lathan, Thomas Lennon, Sophia Macy, Natalie Martinez, Joel McHale, Chris Meloni, Gretchen Mol, Kumail Nanjiani, Paula News<\/a>ome, Chris O\u2019Dowd, Billy Porter, Seth Rogen, Adam Scott, Rhea Seehorn, Jimmi Simpson, Jurnee Smollett, Daniel Sunjata, Alison Tolman, Jacob Tremblay, Damon Wayans Jr., Jefferson White, Jonathan Whitesell, Jessica Williams, DeWanda Wise, and Steven Yeun.<\/p>\n

While there won\u2019t be a third season, the existing episodes of this latest incarnation will continue to be available, like episodes of the original, on CBS All Access<\/del> Paramount+.<\/p>\n
