Post Malone, Hootie & the Blowfish, Pok\u00e9mon \u2014 words one doesn\u2019t expect to see together.<\/p>\n

And, yet, there they are, in a confusing crossover tied to the Japanese cartoon\u2019s 25th anniversary. In honor of the milestone, the \u201cWhite Iverson\u201d rapp<\/a>er will headline a virtual concert on Saturday. <\/p>\n

As a teaser to the show, Malone shared his version of the hit single \u201cOnly Wanna Be With You\u201d by 1990s alt-rock group Hootie & the Blowfish.<\/p>\n

The earworm debuted just over 25 years ago \u2014 and just two weeks after Austin Richard Post, a k a Post Malone, was born.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been a Pok\u00e9mon fan for a long time, so the opportunity to headline the \u2018Pok\u00e9mon Day\u2019 concert celebrating 25 years is awesome,\u201d Post said in a press release earlier this month. He also previously transformed<\/a> into a Pok\u00e9mon-worthy character to promote the event.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, Pok\u00e9mon Company International celebrated the collaboration, tweeting<\/a>, \u201cHootie & the Blowfish? More like Posty & the Qwilfish,\u201d and adding a link to the track.<\/p>\n

The Pok\u00e9mon Company also said to expect more online experiences, such as this weekend\u2019s anniversary show, which airs Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. ET on YouTube<\/a> and Twitch, thanks to a new partnership with Universal Music Group, promising \u201csurprise\u201d artists this year. The merchandising giant will announce more headliners as part of their \u201cP25 Music\u201d campaign following Saturday\u2019s performance. <\/p>\n

Beyond celebrating Pok\u00e9mon, the tattoo-loving<\/a> and Ozzy Osbourne-collaborating Malone also was in the news<\/a> last month for donating<\/a> 10,000 pairs of his sold-out\u00a0Duet Max Clog II Crocs<\/a>\u00a0to frontline workers at dozens of US hospitals.<\/p>\n
