Not so fast \u2014 data shows the real FOMO isn&#8217;t even here <\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-content\" data-v-5a136f3a>Bitcoin (BTC) bears thinking that $58,000 was this cycle&#8217;s top will be sorely dis<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ointed, fresh investment data from past bull markets shows.<\/p>\n<p>Compiled by on-chain analytics resource <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/whale_map\/status\/1364918407028703233\">Whalemap<\/a>, statistics covering BTC buys of between $5 million and $7 million conclude that even at recent all-time highs, Bitcoin was far from a &#8220;macro top.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%E2%80%9CNo_FOMO_in_sight%E2%80%9D_for_BTC\"><\/span>&#8220;No FOMO in sight&#8221; for BTC<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>During the 2017 and shorter 2019 bull market, Bitcoin saw mass buy-ins of a similar size \u2014 $5-7 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When investments of that amount hit a peak, price action began to reverse, signalling the start of consolidation or a heavier retracement.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to Whalemap, cash injections in that area have been far from their previous peaks this year, indicating that the current correction will likely be temporary and on par with BTC&#8217;s typical corrections during a bull run.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Previous macro tops have occurred when thousands of transactions worth 5 to 7 million dollars each were flooding the blockchain. True FOMO,&#8221; researchers tweeted on Feb. 25. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Currently, no such FOMO in sight for BTC.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2021-02\/788a67bf-729d-491d-ab40-11980f86d1f7.jpg\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Bitcoin $5-7 million transaction volume vs. BTC\/USD chart. US institutional investors are still buying $BTC,&#8221; Ki Young Ju, CEO of fellow monitoring resource CryptoQuant, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ki_young_ju\/status\/1365237480631398407\">tweeted<\/a> on Friday. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I think the major reason for this drop is the jittering macro environment like the 10-year Treasury note, not whale deposits, miner selling, and lack of institutional demand.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Liquidity_grab\"><\/span>Liquidity grab?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The start of the turnaround maybe sooner than many think. In his latest analysis, pseudonymous cryptocurrency trader Rekt Capital <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/rektcapital\/status\/1365241237121490946\">eyed<\/a> the 4-hour BTC\/USD chart for proof of a turnaround.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Pulls back but still holds the wick-to-wick Higher Low. Turn $46720 in to support (black) and BTC will move higher. Strong bullish divergences on the 4HR are appearing as well,&#8221; he commented alongside an annotated screenshot of the chart.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2021-02\/d5607e0d-8e76-4669-8edf-b95150e30e8e.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>BTC\/USD 4-hour candle chart. Source: Rekt Capital\/ Twitter<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Speaking to Cointelegraph, the Whalemap team noted that short-term the spent output profit ratio (SOPR) \u2014 which tracks overall market profit and loss \u2014 was indicating that a deeper sell-off is off the cards, at least for now.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Hourly SOPR shows potential for at least a short term bounce,&#8221; they said.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2021-02\/b97d65d5-24e3-400f-a53c-704d0514ab75.jpg\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>BTC\/USD SOPR chart.
