Now a new clip from the film gives a bit more insight into how that encounter goes \u2013 and, as you may expect, it does not turn out well for the humans who are caught in the middle of the mayhem. Watch the clip below.<br \/><span id=\"more-659783\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Godzilla_vs_Kong_Clip\"><\/span>Godzilla vs Kong Clip<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Godzilla vs. Kong - Official Exclusive &quot;Godzilla Meets Kong&quot; Clip | IGN Fan Fest 2021\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GN4ew5z06Xg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em>Godzilla vs. Kong<\/em> director <strong>Adam Wingard<\/strong> (<em>You\u2019re Next<\/em>, <em>The Guest<\/em>, <em>Blair Witch<\/em>) shared this new clip from the film during an event called IGN Fan Fest, and IGN claims that in the footage, \u201cwe not only see King Kong vs. Godzilla, but actually see Godzilla MEET King Kong for the first time.\u201d<br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->I don\u2019t want to be pedantic here, folks, but picture this: if I\u2019m hanging out on a boat and I notice something churning in the water and I scream at it, and the thing under the water screams back while staying completely submerged and we actually have no physical interaction whatsoever, I\u2019m not sure that technically qualifies as \u201cmeeting.\u201d But I digress. Moving on.<\/p>\n<p>At first glance, the rest of this footage looks kinda cool: Godzilla\u2019s tail is just wrecking modes of transportation left and right, and there\u2019s that moment when one of the ships\u2019 anchors gets caught on one of Godzilla\u2019s dinosaur-like plates and half of the destroyed vessel is subsequently dragged underwater. But the clip is so short that it\u2019s tough to get a good sense of the geography of the space. Exactly how far away is Kong from those two tail-smashed ships, and what is the chain that he\u2019s tugging on connected to? If you don\u2019t pay close attention, it almost looks like he\u2019s pulling the boat up out of the water, but in reality, that ship is still connected to Godzilla and is\u00a0 surfacing like the yellow barrels in <em>Jaws<\/em>. It\u2019s unfair to judge a movie based on 39 seconds of footage, but man, I really hope the action is more clearly delineated in the full context of the scene.
