“#Emmanuel Acho to Replace Chris Harrison for ‘The Bachelor’ Reunion ‘After the Final Rose’ Special<\/strong>”

Former NFL linebacker, best-selling author, and Fox Sports analyst Emmanuel Acho is stepping in to host the Bachelor<\/em><\/a> finale reunion special, After the Final Rose<\/em>, airing on March 15.<\/p>\n

Acho confirmed the news<\/a> himself on Twitter<\/a> on February 27. \u201cIt\u2019s official: I\u2019ve accepted the Rose and am honored to be hosting the [Bachelor] After the Final Rose this year,\u201d he wrote. \u201cIt\u2019s been a pivotal season and this episode will be one of the most storied shows in its history. Empathy is needed and change is coming.\u201d In a subsequent tweet<\/a>, he called it \u201clife changing.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the After the Final Rose<\/em> special, he\u2019ll talk to Bachelor<\/em> lead Matt James<\/a> and the final three women of the season.<\/p>\n

Acho replaces Chris Harrison<\/a>, who wrote on social media that he is \u201cstepping aside [from the franchise] for a period of time,\u201d including hosting the After the Final Rose<\/em> special. This came following comments he made in defense of Bachelor<\/em> contestant Rachael Kirkconnell when photos surfaced of her attending an Antebellum party. Harrison subsequently apologized.<\/p>\n

The news that Acho is stepping in comes days after the franchise\u2019s first female Black lead, Rachel Lindsay<\/a>, said to People<\/em><\/a> he\u2019d be \u201cfantastic\u201d for the finale special. \u201c[He\u2019s] very outspoken about racial injustice, for social justice, and has pretty much been the person who said, \u2018I can have these uncomfortable conversations, and people trust it,’\u201d she explained. \u201cWho better to lead it? [He\u2019s] someone who\u2019s not involved with the franchise, no ties, no bias.\u201d<\/p>\n
