\n A computer artist has created a fittingly futuristic homage to Daft Punk, following the iconic duo\u2019s announcement last week that they were splitting up.<\/p>\n

Composer Glenn Marshall<\/a>\u00a0paid homage to the group by using AI to generate a music<\/span> video for their 2001 track \u201cVoyager.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nMarshall produced the film with a program called\u00a0Story2Hallucination<\/a>, a modification to the\u00a0text-to-image generator Big Sleep<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Story2Hallucination uses Big Sleep to convert text inputs\u00a0into continuous animations.\u00a0It enables users to divide entire paragraphs into short phrases and then animate the footage piece-by-piece.<\/p>\n

Marshall created his video\u00a0by inputting the phrases\u00a0\u201crobot headgear,\u201d \u201crobot heads,\u201d and \u201crobot disco,\u201d and prompting the system\u00a0to produce clips in the style of the movie Tron<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt could be any style of anything or anybody \u2014 Picasso, Art Deco, Monet, The Simpsons,\u201d he told TNW via email. \u201cYou can be as specific as you want \u2014 the NLP will work out what I\u2019m trying to ask.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Belfast-based composer then rendered the best clips\u00a0produced by the AI\u00a0into his final video.<\/p>\n

The film is\u00a0an app<\/a>ropriately innovative tribute to the electronic music pioneers, who announced their split by sharing<\/span>\u00a0an excerpt<\/a>\u00a0of their 2006 sci-fi film Electroma<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The clip\u00a0culminates with one member of Daft Punk self-destructing in the desert, while the other walks\u00a0off into the distance on his own. I asked Marshall what he thought the duo would make of his creation:<\/p>\n
