Oooh, boy: Team Biden on Monday wheeled out its line on the border crisis, and it\u2019s a doozy. There is no crisis, but if there is, it\u2019s all Trump\u2019s fault.<\/p>\n

Seriously: Thousands of minors, mostly from Central America, are travel<\/a>ing for weeks without their parents to enter the United States illegally and then request asylum, and Homeland Security chief Alejandro Mayorkas insists that\u2019s not a \u201ccrisis\u201d but simply a \u201cchallenge.\u201d<\/p>\n

No matter that the migration leaves the kids vulnerable to rapists and human traffickers all along the 1,000-plus-mile journey \u2014 and then overwhelms US border communities and forces detention of kids in so-called \u201ccages.\u201d It\u2019s no crisis, Mayorkas insists.<\/p>\n

After all, it\u2019s \u201cloving parents\u201d who are sending 9-year-olds off into this madness, he says as he rejects the Trump \u201cremain in Mexico\u201d policy on asylum claimants: \u201cWe are not app<\/a>rehending a 9-year-old child who\u2019s come alone, who has traversed Mexico, whose parents \u2014 whose loving parents \u2014 had sent that child alone, we are not expelling that 9-year-old child to Mexico\u201d when the kid is from Guatemala, Honduras or El Salvador.<\/p>\n

With that, he\u2019s telling the \u201ccoyote\u201d smugglers and everyone else in the sordid chain that the doors are wide open: Come on in, we won\u2019t stop you.<\/p>\n

This summer\u2019s surge was already expected to exceed the similar nightmare seen under President Barack Obama and after, until then-President Donald Trump found ways to greatly mitigate it by working with Mexican and Central American governments. With the secretary of Homeland Security spouting this nonsense, those expectations look conservative.<\/p>\n

Mayorkas claims it\u2019s all on Trump, because he \u201cdismantled our nation\u2019s immigration system in its entirety.\u201d Bull: Trump boosted border resources while using diplomacy to stem the tide. All he dismantled were the Obama policies that triggered the mess in the first place. And it\u2019s President Biden who has dismantled Trump\u2019s solutions.<\/p>\n

How much suffering will have to occur before Team Biden drops the clueless ideology and starts facing facts about this horrific self-imposed \u201cchallenge\u201d?\n <\/p><\/div>\n
