Who\u2019s that hand?<\/p>\n

That was the question on viewers\u2019 minds as they watched the 2021 Golden Globes when a mysterious hand double for Tina Fey, who was in New York, reached through the split screen to pet Amy Poehler, stationed in Los Angeles, during the opening monologue.<\/p>\n

\u201cPsyched to add arm model to my resume!!!\u201d makeup artist Molly R. Stern wrote on Instagram<\/a>, revealing herself to be the mystical arm.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen Amy Poehler and Tina Fey ask you to participate in their @goldenglobes monologue you most definitely oblige. #ArmModelForHire,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Stern, who also did Poehler\u2019s makeup for the ceremony<\/a>, was part of a gag in the monologue as the hosts poked fun at the show\u2019s first-ever bicoastal event. <\/p>\n

During the broadcast, the pair were featured on a split screen and Fey, 50, said \u201cthe technology<\/a> is so great you\u2019re never gonna be able to tell the difference\u201d \u2014 and proceeded to pretend to pet Poehler, 49, through the dual screen.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou won\u2019t even notice,\u201d Fey said, while Stern, who was stationed off-camera, stroked Poehler\u2019s hair on Tina\u2019s behalf. \u201cI always knew my career would end with me walking around the Rainbow Room pretending to talk to Amy.\u201d<\/p>\n

The bit of TV magic had Twitter<\/a> up in arms as they tried to guess who the limb belonged to<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat person was app<\/a>arently an official union member of arm models,\u201d one person joked<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Stern has been in showbiz for quite some time, having worked in the makeup department in 1996\u2019s \u201cSwingers.\u201d More recently, she served as Reese Witherspoon\u2019s makeup artist for \u201cBig Little Lies,\u201d according to IMDb<\/a>, along with countless celebrities seen on her Instagram page<\/a>.<\/p>\n
