“#Disney+’s Obi-Wan Kenobi Series<\/a> Reportedly Casts ‘Game<\/a> of Thrones’ Star Indira Varma<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Disney+ is expanding its cast for the highly anticipatedStar Wars<\/em> series centered around fan-favorite character Obi-Wan Kenobi.<\/p>\n

Game of Thrones<\/em> and For Life<\/em> actress Indira Varma has reportedly been tapp<\/a>ed to join previously announced stars Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, who will reprise their prequel film roles as Obi-Wan and Darth Vader in the series, which is set 10 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith <\/em>and before A New Hope<\/em>.<\/p>\n

According to Deadline<\/em><\/a>, details about Varma\u2019s character are being kept under wraps, along with the show\u2019s plot.<\/p>\n

While Disney hasn\u2019t officially announced Varma\u2019s involvement, the actress did acknowledge the news<\/a> by liking actress Kim Cattrall\u2019s tweet congratulating<\/a> her on the new job.<\/p>\n

During Disney\u2019s Investor Day announcements in December, it was stated that production on the series was set to begin sometime this year with Deborah Chow serving as director and lead creative. Chow previously directed Disney+\u2019s other Star Wars<\/em> seriesThe Mandalorian<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Varma is best known for her role as Ellaria Sand in HBO\u2019s Game of Thrones<\/em>, in which she starred alongside The Mandalorian<\/em>\u2018s Pedro Pascal. She currently appears in ABC\u2019s For Life<\/em>, and her other credits include roles in Rome<\/em>, Luther<\/em>, and Carnival Row<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
