Who knows where the chips are gonna fall?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bruce, who had made a running catch in left field already this spring, looked sharp at first base in Wednesday\u2019s 4-1, seven-inning win over the Blue Jays. He said he\u2019s in \u201cthe best shape in a very long time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think I\u2019d had a hit in probably five months,\u2019\u2019 Ford said. \u201cIt was a good feeling to get that one out of the way.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n<p>Darren O\u2019Day, with his sidearm delivery, threw live batting practice on Tuesday at the Yankees minor league complex, im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely after batters had faced Aroldis Chapman.<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Day noted that Chapman will be throwing 100 mph during the season, while he tops out at 85.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can\u2019t really quantify deception, but it\u2019s a valuable tool to have,\u2019\u2019 O\u2019Day said. \u201cTo have different looks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s one reason O\u2019Day believes this bullpen will be effective.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust messing with the hitters\u2019 timing [is important],\u2019\u2019 O\u2019Day said. \u201cThe more we can do to disrupt that timing, the more outs we\u2019re going to get.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The right-hander is ready to contribute in various roles, much like he said he was used by Buck Showalter in Baltimore.<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Day pointed to Showalter using his relievers to get \u201cfour, five six outs a night.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Podcast\" width=\"100%\" height=\"188px\" src=\"https:\/\/embed.acast.com\/pinstripe-pod\/concernedwithyankeesstartingpitching-feat.suzynwaldman?accentColor=2a2a2a&amp;bgColor=f6f6f6&amp;font-family=proxima%20nova&amp;logo=false&amp;secondaryColor=cc3333\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden;\"><br \/>\n<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had a great relationship,\u2019\u2019 O\u2019Day said. \u201cI really enjoyed playing for him, especially the early years in Baltimore when the team was pretty much the doormat of the league for a long time. We kind of brought the nice baseball tradition back there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Day noted Showalter was \u201ca really, really good bullpen manager. The longer I\u2019ve been in the league, the more I <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>reciate that. You know Buck, he had some credit built up with the league, so he kind of managed the way he wanted to and it wasn\u2019t necessarily, \u2018Well this guy has to match with this guy.\u2019 It was just, \u2018I\u2019m going to have my guy get five outs tonight and then he\u2019s going to have tomorrow off and pitch the next day.\u2019 So Buck was great.
