The set is out April 16 (via <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"external-link\" data-event-click='{\"element\":\"ExternalLink\",\"outgoingURL\":\"https:\/\/www.capitolrecords.com\/\"}' href=\"https:\/\/www.capitolrecords.com\/\">Capitol<\/a>\/<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"external-link\" data-event-click='{\"element\":\"ExternalLink\",\"outgoingURL\":\"https:\/\/www.umgcatalog.com\/\"}' href=\"https:\/\/www.umgcatalog.com\/\">UMe<\/a>) and it includes outtakes, demos, impromptu jam sessions, the full live recording session of Yoko Ono\u2019s companion album <em>Yoko Ono\/Plastic Ono Band<\/em><strong>,<\/strong> and much more across eight discs. The collection includes six CDs, two Blu-ray audio discs, a 132-page book, a \u201cWar Is Over!\u201d poster, and two postcards. Its massive tracklist features 87 previously unreleased recordings. It was helmed by the same audio team that worked on 2018\u2019s <em>Imagine<\/em> reissue, including engineer Paul Hicks and mixers\/engineers Rob Stevens and Sam Gannon.<\/p>\n<p><em>Plastic Ono Band<\/em> was Lennon\u2019s first album after the Beatles\u2019 breakup. Produced by Phil Spector, it was a minimal recording featuring Ringo Starr on drums and Klaus Voorman on bass. The album features \u201cIsolation,\u201d \u201cWorking Class Hero,\u201d \u201cGod,\u201d \u201cHold On,\u201d and \u201cWell Well Well.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"cne-interlude-embed\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cWith the Plastic Ono Band albums, John and I liked the idea of this really raw, basic, truthful reality that we were going to be giving to the world,\u201d Yoko Ono wrote in the book\u2019s preface. \u201cWe were influencing other artists, giving them courage, giving dignity to a certain style of vulnerability and strength that was not accepted in society at the time.
