“#Guest Star Laverne Cox Comes Aboard as a Sadistic Interrogator<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

The Blacklist<\/em><\/a> is bringing in Emmy nominee Laverne Cox<\/a> (Orange Is the New Black<\/em><\/a>) for a twisted guest spot in Season 8.<\/p>\n

Cox will app<\/a>ear in the March 12 episode of the NBC drama, TV Insider has learned exclusively. She\u2019ll play the episode\u2019s blacklister, Dr. Laken Perillos, a sadistic interrogator who tortures her victims by using unorthodox methods. In the episode, Red (James Spader<\/a>) and Dembe (Hisham Tawfiq<\/a>) are in danger when Townsend deploys her.<\/p>\n

\u201cAn act of injustice in her past fuels her fascination with pain, and how racial bias can affect the ability to recognize the suffering of others,\u201d Cox\u2019s character\u2019s description reads.<\/p>\n

Cox is also currently in production on Shonda Rhimes\u2019<\/a> 10-episode limited series<\/a> Inventing Anna<\/em><\/a> for Netflix. According to the logline, \u201ca journalist with a lot to prove investigates the case of Anna Delvey, the Instagram-legendary German heiress who stole the hearts of New York\u2019s social<\/a> scene \u2014 and stole their money as well.\u201d The streaming service is also home to her documentary Disclosure<\/em>, which she executive produced.<\/p>\n
