They can be both a blessing and a curse, though. To help you fine-tune your experience, Android has a feature called \u201cNotification Channels.\u201d They make notifications a lot better.<\/p>\n<p>As smartphones and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>s have evolved, so have notifications. In the early days, notification controls were pretty basic. You\u2019d install an app and you could turn notifications on or off. As apps got more complex, so did the notifications.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RELATED:<\/strong> <strong><em>How to Pause Notifications on Android<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Maybe you only want notifications for one specific thing from an app. Some apps have built-in granular notification controls, but not all of them do. And you\u2019d also have to dig through that app\u2019s settings, which might be organized in an unfamiliar way.<\/p>\n<p>Notification Channels aim to simplify this process and give more control to the users.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Are_Notification_Channels_on_Android\"><\/span>What Are Notification Channels on Android?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>\u201cNotification Channels\u201d were <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/exploring-android\/exploring-android-o-notification-channels-94cd274f604c\">introduced in 2017<\/a> with Android 8.0 Oreo. The idea is that apps can group different types of notifications into \u201cchannels.\u201d Each channel can then be turned on or off by the user. This all happens in the Android settings.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s take a look at <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube<\/a>, for example. There are quite a few channels available. You have \u201cSubscriptions,\u201d \u201cLivestreams,\u201d and \u201cComments and Replies,\u201d to name a few. Say you get a YouTube notification for a live stream and you realize you don\u2019t want to be notified about that. You can disable the \u201cLivestreams\u201d channel right then and there.<\/p>\n<p>Think of it like putting a nozzle on a water hose. Instead of only being able to choose between \u201cOn\u201d or \u201cOff,\u201d you have a lot more fine controls.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Turn_off_Notification_Channels_from_the_Android_Settings\"><\/span>Turn off Notification Channels from the Android Settings<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>There are two ways that you can adjust Notification Channels. Depending on the app, there may be a huge number of channels or none at all.
