Gov. Andrew Cuomo had someone else take his mandatory workplace sex harassment training course for him \u2014 then signed off on it as if he\u2019d taken it himself, accuser Charlotte Bennett says in a bombshell new interview aired Friday night.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn 2019, he did not take the sexual harassment training,\u201d the 25-year-old alleges in the interview on \u201cCBS Evening News<\/a> with Norah O\u2019Donnell.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHow do you know that?\u201d O\u2019Donnell asks. <\/p>\n

\u201cI was there,\u201d Bennett, who worked for him at the time, answers.<\/p>\n

\u201cI heard Stephanie, say, \u2018I can\u2019t believe I\u2019m doing this for you,’\u201d Bennett recalls \u2013referring to office director Stephanie Benton.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m making a joke about the fact that she was completing the training for him,\u201d Bennett recalls.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then I heard her at the end ask him to sign the certificate,\u201d Bennett said.<\/p>\n

Bennett\u2019s explosive claim that the governor had an aide complete his sex-harassment training for him directly contradicts what he said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

When asked by a reporter if he had taken the mandatory training, Cuomo simply said, \u201cThe short answer is yes.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

Benton, meanwhile, \u201ccategorically denies the exchange,\u201d according to a statement from the governor\u2019s office that added, \u201cthis is not true,\u201d CBS reported.<\/p>\n

Also in the interview, Bennett said the governor\u00a0tasked her with \u201cfinding\u201d him a girlfriend \u2014 then impatiently asked a day later if she had done so, a revelation teased in previews earlier Friday.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile on Friday, Bennett\u2019s lawyer, Debra Katz, sent a letter to state Attorney General<\/a> Letitia James asking the AG to ensure that evidence related to Bennett\u2019s sexual harassment claims is preserved by the Governor\u2019s office and senior staff.<\/p>\n

The urgency of Katz\u2019s request \u201cwas heightened by recent new reports that the Governor\u2019s staff modified government reports related to other matters,\u201d the lawyer said in a press statement.<\/p>\n

That was an app<\/a>arent reference to news from Thursday night that Cuomo\u2019s top advisors pushed state health officials to omit from a public report the number of nursing home residents who died in hospitals from COVID-19.<\/p>\n
