Nicolas Cage is a married man again, having wed Riko Shibata last month at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas, Page Six can confirm.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s true, and we are very happ<\/a>y,\u201d the actor said in a statement.<\/p>\n

The couple wed February 16 in a small ceremony,\u00a0a date chosen to honor the birthday of the groom\u2019s late father, according to Cage\u2019s statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Riko wore a handmade bridal kimono from Kyoto; Cage\u2019s tux was by Tom Ford. The couple exchanged traditional Catholic and Shinto vows with readings of Walt Whitman poetry and Japanese haiku \u201csprinkled in.\u201d <\/p>\n

Cage\u2019s ex-wife Alice Kim \u2014 with whom the actor is still on good terms \u2014 joined the couple to celebrate afterward, along with Kim and Cage\u2019s son Kal.<\/p>\n

Cage and Riko met in Shiga, Japan, and have been together since shortly after the dissolution of Cage\u2019s last marriage, to Erika Koike \u2014 which lasted for four days in 2019.<\/p>\n

Shortly before the pandemic shut down New York in March 2020, Cage and Riko were spotted on a date at Tavern on the Green, where they \u201cdidn\u2019t talk much\u201d but made sure to \u201cdrink lavishly,\u201d before taking a carriage ride around Central Park, having already taken in the Museum of Natural History earlier in the week.<\/p>\n

According to the Daily Mail<\/a>, Cage, who proposed via FaceTime and FedExed Riko\u2019s ring to Japan, announced their engagement in August on his brother Marc Coppola\u2019s radio show. <\/p>\n

\u201cShe left New York and went back to Kyoto, Japan, and I went back to Nevada and I haven\u2019t seen her for six months,\u201d he told Marc. \u201cWe\u2019re really happy together and we\u2019re really excited to spend that time together so I finally just said, \u201dLook, I wanna marry you\u201d and we got engaged on FaceTime.\u201d<\/p>\n

At 26, Riko is four years younger than the 57-year-old Cage\u2019s first son Weston. It\u2019s her first marriage.<\/p>\n

Cage memorably\u00a0claimed in court documents\u00a0that he \u201clacked understanding of his actions in marrying [Koike] to the extent that he was incapable of agreeing to the marriage.\u201d That was his fourth divorce; he was married to Patricia Arquette from 1995 to 2001, Lisa Marie Presley from 2002 to 2004 and Kim from 2004 to 2016.<\/p>\n

Cage was most recently seen in Netflix\u2019s \u201cHistory of Swear Words\u201d<\/a> and is set to play \u201cTiger King\u201d Joe Exotic<\/a> in Amazon\u2019s forthcoming scripted adaptation of the wildlife saga.\n <\/div>\n
