“#NYC’s dueling Van Gogh exhibits: Here’s the original<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

One ear, two exhibits.<\/p>\n

Vincent van Gogh fans are lost in the starry internet night of ticket sellers as two competing exhibits about the famed Dutch painter head to NYC.\u00a0<\/p>\n

There\u2019s the large-scale animated projection exhibit \u201cImmersive Van Gogh<\/a>\u201d and then there\u2019s \u201cVan Gogh: The Immersive Experience<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

And the Better Business Bureau is warning New Yorkers that one of them is not like the other. <\/p>\n

Their names and promotion material are confusingly similar, but those who\u2019ve delved into the differences between the dueling experiences say there\u2019s a huge difference. \u201cImmersive Van Gogh\u201d offers an impressive homage to the late artist created by Italian immersive-exhibition pioneer Massimiliano Siccardi and involving more than \u201c500,000 cubic feet of projections.\u201d It has gotten rave reviews during its multi-city run (\u201ca cathartic and liberating experience,\u201d wrote the Toronto Sun) and sold out in Toronto and Chicago, according to its website.\u00a0It was even featured in Netflix\u2019s \u201cEmily in Paris.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cVan Gogh: The Immersive Experience,\u201d on the other hand, promises 360-degree projections, 15,000 square feet of screens, and \u201ca one of kind Virtual Reality interactive,\u201d according to its site, but watchdogs say its European-based ticketing platform is problematic, and fans of the painter say they\u2019ve unintentionally bought tickets for it thinking it\u2019s the slightly shorter-named homage.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThey had some issues in the past,\u201d Mario Iacampo, a \u201cVan Gogh: The Immersive Experience\u201d producer told CBS<\/a> of their ticketing platform, Fever, which the Better Business Bureau currently lists as having an F \u2014 the worst possible rating.\u00a0<\/p>\n
