A Florida man accused of murdering his wife and burying her in his backyard had allegedly tried to throw cops off his trail by telling them she\u2019s \u201cswimming with the fishes.\u201d<\/p>\n

When 45-year-old Mary Stella Gomez Mullet went missing in Palm Beach County on Feb. 22, husband Roberto Colon, 66, admitted he\u2019d had a fight with her. <\/p>\n

But he claimed to have nothing to do with her disapp<\/a>earance \u2014 even when investigators found blood on his front door and inside his garage.<\/p>\n

Gomez Mullet is \u201cswimming with the fishes,\u201d the husband allegedly yelled at investigators as they left his house, urging them to \u201cfind the body, find the body,\u201d WPEC reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But police also learned that Colon had in January threatened to strangle his wife and bury her in his backyard. <\/p>\n

And when they went to arrest him on Friday \u2014 on an unrelated marijuana charge \u2014 officers overheard him telling a friend, \u201cThere\u2019s one thing they can\u2019t do, they can\u2019t put what\u2019s his name, Humpty Dumpty, back together again,\u201d WPEC said, quoting from the arrest report.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s really nothing that they can take from my house, you know,\u201d cops say they heard Colon add. \u201cIt\u2019s no use to them in prosecution, except parts and s\u2013t.\u201d<\/p>\n

But police found human remains on the property, and on Saturday he was charged with first-degree premeditated murder.<\/p>\n

Police say Colon married his wife shortly after meeting her in exchange for her getting U.S. citizenship and taking care of his dementia-stricken mother, according to the arrest report cited by WPEC.<\/p>\n

Colon is being held at the Palm Beach County jail without bond.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
