The coronavirus is causing one Florida hotspot to cancel spring break.<\/p>\n

The Wharf in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, posted a notice on Instagram<\/a> that through the end of the month, it will only serve out-of-state customers who are 23 years old and up.<\/p>\n

And despite partying crowds on the beaches during the day Friday, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported<\/a> that The Wharf had a sparse, social<\/a>ly distanced crowd.<\/p>\n

The Wharf was closed for months in 2020, and reopened for just two days in November when social media exploded over pictures and videos of packed, maskless crowds of young people. It was cited three times in one day<\/a> for violating mask and social distance rules. The outdoor club, which spun off from its first location in Miami in 2019, reopened again in January with a variety of measures in place, like acrylic barriers on the bar.<\/p>\n

Across Florida, elected officials and business owners are trying to dissuade spring breakers from crowding their beaches, streets and bars. Miami Beach has banned booze on the sand and set a curfew to limit its famed nightlife, while Fort Lauderdale is heavily enforcing social distancing and mask mandates.<\/p>\n
