\u200bGOP Sen. John Barrasso on Sunday hit President Biden for \u200bpushing his $1.9 trillion coronavirus stimulus package through Congress despite pledging to work with Republicans \u2014 calling the bill a \u201cliberal wish list\u201d<\/p>\n

The relief bill passed the Senate on Saturday and the House last week without one Republican vote.<\/p>\n

\u201cTen Republicans went to the White House and said, \u200b\u2019\u200bAl\u200bl \u200bright, let\u2019s work together.\u200b\u2019\u200b Instead, the White House chief of staff said this is the most progressive, the most progressive piece of domestic legislation in a generation\u200b,\u201d Barrasso (R-Wyo.) said on NBC News\u2019 \u201cMeet the Press,\u201d<\/a> referring to Ron Klain.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u200bThis was never about getting people back to work or kids back to school or the disease behind us. That\u2019s where it should have been focused.\u200b\u201d\u200b<\/p>\n

Instead of enlisting Republican support for a bipartisan bill, he said the president and Democrats passed \u201ca liberal wish list of liberal spending just basically.\u201d\u200b<\/p>\n

Even though the Biden package had strong support from the American public, Barrasso predicted that will soon diminish.\u200b\u200b<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen people find out what\u2019s in this bill, they\u2019re going to lose a lot of any enthusiasm they may have for it right now,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

\u201cBecause this was not really about coronavirus in terms of the spending. This was a liberal wish list of liberal spending just basically filled with pork. It didn\u2019t need to be this way\u200b.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
