Andrew Yang is the leading contender among a crowded field of candidates in the Democratic primary race for mayor, according to a new poll.<\/p>\n

Yang was the top pick to lead the Big App<\/a>le for 32 percent of the 644 likely Democratic voters who responded to a WPIX-TV\/News<\/a>Nation\/Emerson College poll that was released Monday. <\/p>\n

Behind Yang, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams was the second top candidate, according to the poll, garnering 19 percent of the likely voters.<\/p>\n

City Comptroller Scott Stringer polled at just 6 percent, while Maya Wiley, a former federal prosecutor and counsel to Mayor de Blasio, notched 9 percent support, the poll said.<\/p>\n

Yang leads all candidates among white and Asian voters, the poll found. He is also favored among the majority of voters aged 18 to 29.<\/p>\n

Adams is the top choice among black and Hispaic voters, according to the poll.<\/p>\n

The poll, which was conducted March 4 to 6, found Cuomo had a higher approval rating among city voters than de Blasio.<\/p>\n

Cuomo notched a 55 percent approval rating to the mayor\u2019s 26 percent.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
