Kobe Bryant is still in the game<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The deceased Lakers legend will be featured on covers of NBA 2K21, including the \u201cMamba Forever Edition.\u201d Rookie sensation Zion Williamson and Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard were previously announced as cover athletes for the popular video game.<\/p>\n

\u201cEach of our cover athletes represent different eras of the game of basketball \u2013 Damian Lillard dominates the court today, Zion Williamson is a standard bearer for the next generation of NBA superstar and what more could be said about Kobe?,\u201d NBA 2K vice president of global marketing Alfie Brody said in a statement. \u201cThree athletes representing the current, future and storied history of the game. Today\u2019s exciting announcement is just the first of many for NBA 2K21; it\u2019s going to be a huge year for basketball fans and NBA 2K gamers.\u201d<\/p>\n

The game, set to be released on Sept. 4, will be priced at $59.99 for current-generation consoles and $69.99 for next-gen PlayStation 5 and XBox Series<\/a> X. For $99.99, the \u201cMamba Forever Edition\u201d will feature legacy versions of the game and extra digital content.<\/p>\n

Bryant, who along with his daughter, Gianna, was killed in a helicopter crash in January, previously was the cover athlete for NBA 2K10 and the Legend edition of NBA 2K17. The former league MVP and five-time NBA champion retired in 2016 after 20 years with the Lakers.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
