Dr. Conrad Hawkins (Matt Czuchry<\/a>) and Billie Sutton (Jessica Lucas<\/a>) may both have nurse practitioner Nic Nevin\u2019s (Emily VanCamp<\/a>) best interests at heart, but they\u2019ll probably never be on the same page. (That\u2019s understandable, considering Billie made a mistake and paralyzed one of Conrad\u2019s patients.)<\/p>\n

Their latest point of contention in TV Insider\u2019s exclusive sneak peek of the March 9 episode of The Resident<\/em>: what Nic should do when the man who stabbed her in Episode 5 is brought into Chastain for treatment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll get someone to cover for me, then I\u2019ll take you home,\u201d Nic\u2019s husband Conrad says, while her friend Billie offers, \u201cI\u2019ll stay another day to be with her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though Conrad worries that seeing her attacker is a \u201ctrigger\u201d she doesn\u2019t need, Nic is more concerned about his<\/em> reaction \u2014 and it seems for good reason. \u201cDo I want to kill him with my bare hands? Maybe,\u201d he admits, but \u201cWill I? No.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEven though he has this tension with Billie, Conrad still wanted what was best for Nic,\u201d Czuchry told TV Insider of their conflict in Billie\u2019s first episode. \u201cHe was willing to put his disagreements aside with Billie for Nic, so we are going to see a bit of those dynamics play out.\u201d<\/p>\n
