A <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/science\/2021\/03\/05\/growing-share-of-americans-say-they-plan-to-get-a-covid-19-vaccine-or-already-have\/\">new Pew Research Center survey<\/a> shows that the godless are more likely to get vaccinated for COVID-19 compared to religious groups \u2014 as 90% of atheist respondents said that they will \u201cdefinitely\u201d or \u201cprobably\u201d seek the shot, or have already received their first vaccine dose.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, an average of 77% of Catholics will go in for the jab, and only 62% of Protestant participants \u2014 including white or Hispanic evangelicals and worshippers at historically black churches \u2014 will do the same. <\/p>\n<p>By contrast, nearly half \u2014 45% \u2014 of white evangelicals say they \u201cdefinitely\u201d or \u201cprobably will not\u201d seek the coronavirus vaccine, regardless of the manufacturer. And they <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ear split down the middle as 54% affirmed that they likely will get the shot.<\/p>\n<p>Insights into how various spiritual communities currently approach vaccination were first <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/religionnews.com\/2021\/03\/05\/black-protestants-arent-least-likely-to-get-a-vaccine-white-evangelicals-are\/\">reported by Religion News Service<\/a>, as part of a broader report by Pew researchers to investigate Americans\u2019 intentions regarding COVID-19 vaccination, published Friday. Last month, the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nolacatholic.org\/news\/a-statement-regarding-the-janssen-johnson-johnson-covid-19-vaccine\">Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans was split<\/a> on whether or not to endorse the late-entry Johnson &amp; Johnson vaccine, which some have deemed \u201cmorally compromised\u201d due to its development involving cloned stem cells from two fetuses that were aborted in the 1970s and \u201980s. <\/p>\n<p>In December, the Vatican OK\u2019d vaccines by Pfizer and Moderna, which conducted tests using the same abortion-derived cells. However, the stem cells are not ultimately required for manufacturing of those vaccines, whereas the J&amp;J\u2019s blueprint relies on those controversial cells. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is under the same guidance that the archdiocese must instruct Catholics that the latest vaccine from Janssen\/Johnson &amp; Johnson is morally compromised as it uses the abortion-derived cell line in development and production of the vaccine as well as the testing,\u201d the New Orleans Archdiocese concluded in their statement. <\/p>\n<p>Christians of all denominations have now found themselves pitted against others in their fellowship. <\/p>\n<p>According to RNS\u2019s report, white evangelicals are the least likely to \u201cconsider the health effects on their community when making decisions to be vaccinated,\u201d with only 48% responding to Pew that they put this into \u201ca lot\u201d of consideration.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" alt=\"Atheists have the right to be holier than thou when it comes to fighting the pandemic, a new study has found.\" class=\"wp-image-17514054 lazyload\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/atheists-more-likely-to-get-vaccinated-4.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=300 300w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/atheists-more-likely-to-get-vaccinated-4.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=640 640w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/atheists-more-likely-to-get-vaccinated-4.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1280 1280w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/atheists-more-likely-to-get-vaccinated-4.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/atheists-more-likely-to-get-vaccinated-4.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=2000 2000w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Atheists have the right to be holier than thou when it comes to fighting the pandemic, a new study has found.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a long history of anti-science within American evangelicalism,\u201d said evangelical historian John Fea of Messiah University, going back to the Scopes Monkey trial of the 1920s, he told RNS, in which evangelicals protested the teaching of Darwin\u2019s theory of evolution in Tennessee public schools. <\/p>\n<p>David French, senior editor \u2014 and Presbyterian \u2014 at conservative <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> site the Dispatch, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/frenchpress.thedispatch.com\/p\/the-spiritual-problem-at-the-heart\">asserted in a Saturday column<\/a> that \u201cvaccine hesitancy is both an information problem and a spiritual problem.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, you can and should flood the zone with more and better information about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine, but we also need to flood the zone with better and more effective spiritual teaching about loving our neighbors and \u2014 critically \u2014 about trust, faith, and courage,\u201d he wrote. <\/p>\n<p>His comments follow those from Dr. Francis Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health (that\u2019s Dr. Anthony Fauci\u2019s boss), who appeared Thursday on the popular Christian Broadcasting Network \u2014 home of the long-running televangelist talk show \u201cThe 700 Club\u201d \u2014 to encourage viewers to seek the vaccine. <\/p>\n<p>Collins, a \u201cdevout Christian\u201d according to CBN, stressed that the biblical commandment to \u201clove thy neighbor\u201d is an important virtue when considering vaccination. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a \u2018love your neighbor\u2019 moment, where we all have a chance to do something not just for ourselves but for everybody around us,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>Responding to recent reports of infighting among religious communities over which vaccine to seek \u2014 or whether to seek one at all \u2014 <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www1.cbn.com\/cbnnews\/us\/2021\/march\/nih-director-love-thy-neighbor-and-get-vaccinated\">Collins said<\/a>, \u201cI would be reluctant to suggest that anybody just wait until they get the one they like, because that might be waiting awhile, and in the meantime, people can still get sick.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, CBN viewers were skeptical, according to the more than 1,000 comments made <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/cbnnews\/posts\/10165632089155393\">on the network\u2019s Facebook page<\/a> following <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/mvxC6Db2wXc\">the 22-minute interview<\/a>. Good luck!\u201d wrote Sharon Elise, recognized as a \u201ctop fan\u201d on the page.<\/p>\n<p>But Collins addressed this fear during the interview. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe vaccines, which I\u2019ve had a big part in helping get developed, have been tested in the most rigorous imaginable trials, they\u2019ve been shown safe and effective,\u201d he said.\n            <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
