format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210407078\/delayed\" class=\"positive\">+0.43%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       rose 142 points, or 0.5%, to 31,953.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n      S&amp;P 500    edged up 13 points, or 0.3%, to 3,886.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n      Nasdaq-100 futures<br \/>\n        NQ00,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210219788\/delayed\" class=\"positive\">+0.46%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       jumped 84 points, or 0.7%, to 12,872.50.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite<br \/>\n        COMP,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210598365\/realtime\" class=\"positive\">+3.69%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       jumped 464.66 points, or 3.7%, on Tuesday for its biggest one-day percentage gain since Nov. 4, according to Dow Jones Market Data. The bounce came a day after the index fell into correction territory, a pullback of 10% from a recent peak. The Dow<br \/>\n        DJIA,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210598065\/realtime\" class=\"positive\">+0.10%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       rose 30.30 points, or 0.1%, while the S&amp;P 500<br \/>\n        SPX,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210599714\/realtime\" class=\"positive\">+1.42%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       logged a 1.4% gain.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n<h6><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Whats_driving_the_market\"><\/span>What\u2019s driving the market?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6>\n<p> The U.S. February consumer price index showed inflation rising modestly, in line with expectations. Inflation rose 0.4% for the month, but with food and energy s<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a>ped out, the gain was 0.1%. Headline CPI picked up to 1.7% from 1.4% on an annual basis while the core 12-month increase dipped to 1.3% from 1.4%.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Treasury yields retreated slightly Wednesday, pausing for now the dynamic that\u2019s been driving a rotation out of shares of highflying <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> stocks and other growth shares and into more cyclically sensitive, value-oriented equities.<\/p>\n<p>The yield on the 10-year Treasury note<br \/>\n        TMUBMUSD10Y,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.000%\" channel=\"\" class=\"\">1.553%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       was down around 5 basis points at 1.547% ahead of an auction of $38 billion of benchmark 10-year notes.  Yields have risen for five straight weeks along with inflation expectations. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe recent rally in bond yields has hurt tech stocks the most, due to their high valuations,\u201d said Charalambos Pissouros, senior market analyst at JFD, in a note. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHigh-growth tech companies are valued based on earnings expected years into the future, and thus, when yields rise, their discounted present value declines. The opposite is true when yields retreat. That\u2019s why Nasdaq was the main gainer yesterday,\u201d Pissouros said.<\/p>\n<p>Yields are being driven higher as investors look for U.S. economic growth to surge and for inflation to accelerate, at least in the near term.
