The sexual harassment scandal engulfing Gov. Andrew Cuomo escalated Wednesday with the emergence of allegations that he reached under a female aide\u2019s blouse and groped her while they were alone in a room inside the Executive Mansion in Albany.<\/p>\n

The incident allegedly unfolded after the much-younger woman was summoned to help the 63-year-old governor fix a problem with his cellphone, the Albany Times Union reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The woman told him to stop, the news<\/a>paper said.<\/p>\n

The accusations are the most serious yet made against Cuomo, who\u2019s previously been hit with claims of sexual harassment and other inapp<\/a>ropriate behavior by five other women, four of whom were his aides at the time.<\/p>\n

The latest accuser said the incident took place late last year after Cuomo shut the door to a room on the second floor of the governor\u2019s heavily guarded, official residence, the Times Union said.<\/p>\n

The woman also said it followed frequent flirting with her by Cuomo.<\/p>\n

The paper, which said it was withholding the woman\u2019s identity, said her account was relayed by a person with direct knowledge of her claims.<\/p>\n

The woman recounted the alleged incident to at least one female supervisor in the Executive Chamber on March 3\u00a0after\u00a0watching a news conference at which Cuomo claimed, \u201cI never touched anyone inappropriately,\u201d the Times Union said.<\/p>\n

That news conference marked the first time Cuomo had appeared in public since the multiple allegations against him began to emerge \u2014 but at a point at which only three accusers had come forward.<\/p>\n

Cuomo\u2019s latest accuser hasn\u2019t filed a formal complaint against him but at least one of her supervisors\u00a0told a lawyer in Cuomo\u2019s office about her allegations\u00a0on Monday, the Times Union said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

In response to Wednesday\u2019s report, former Cuomo aide Lindsey Boylan \u2014 whose online essay last month unleashed the torrent of allegations against the governor \u2014 tweeted, \u201cYou need to resign. You need to go now @NYGovCuomo.\u201d<\/p>\n

Boylan also demanded that members\u00a0of the state Assembly \u2014 including Speaker Carl Heastie (D-The Bronx) \u2014 \u201cput your big kid pants on and start the process of impeachment.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cVictims are not chess pieces for your budget negotiations,\u201d she tweeted.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe see you. And you will see us. Do your job.\u201d<\/p>\n

Boylan, 36, has alleged that Cuomo\u2019s harassment of her included unexpectedly kissing her \u201con the lips\u201d in his Manhattan office in 2018.<\/p>\n

The lawyer for another accuser, former Cuomo aide Charlotte Bennett, 25, called the latest allegations \u201ceerily similar\u201d to Bennett\u2019s earlier experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cCharlotte was summoned to the Capitol on a Saturday, left isolated with the Governor and asked to help him with minor technical issues with his phone,\u201d lawyer Debra Katz said in a prepared statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Governor\u2019s sexual harassment, which Charlotte Bennett reported, was buried by his aides and never properly investigated. Because of their enablement, another young woman was left in harm\u2019s way,\u201d<\/p>\n

Assemblyman Ron Kim (D-Queens) \u2014 who last month called for Cuomo\u2019s impeachment for the cover-up of the death toll of nursing home residents from COVID-19 \u2014 said, \u201cI am without words. This is now sexual assault.\u201d<\/p>\n

Assemblywoman Yuh-Line Nioh (D-Manhattan) tweeted, \u201cI feel sick.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cuomo denied Wednesday\u2019s report in a prepared statement released by his spokesman.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs I said yesterday, I have never done anything like this. The details of this report are gut-wrenching,\u201d Cuomo said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am not going to speak to the specifics of this or any other allegation given the ongoing review, but I am confident in the result of the Attorney General<\/a>\u2019s report.\u201d<\/p>\n

Former acting Manhattan US Attorney Joon Kim and veteran employment lawyer Anne Clark have been hired to lead an independent investigation of the allegations against Cuomo, AG Letitia James said Monday.<\/p>\n

Cuomo has pledged to cooperate with the probe and urged New Yorkers to withhold judgment pending its findings.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
