And it has a great cast to boot: <strong>Richard E. Grant<\/strong> (<em>Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker<\/em>), <strong>Lucy Lawless<\/strong> (<em>Xena: Warrior Princess<\/em>), <strong>Patton Oswalt\u00a0<\/strong>(<em>A.P. Bio<\/em>), and more lend their voices to this movie. Didn\u2019t think I\u2019d be spending a Thursday afternoon watching animated people have their limbs hacked off, but here we are. This looks extremely cool, and not just the novelty of the rotoscope effect, but the vibes of the whole thing: the capes, the torches, the <em>Lord of the Rings<\/em>-influenced architecture, the\u2026hang gliders? Hell yes. There really aren\u2019t enough hang gliders in movies these days.<\/p>\n<p>So where the hell did this come from? Well, the film is the brainchild of writer\/directors <strong>Philip Gelatt<\/strong>, who previously directed 2018\u2019s <em>They Remain<\/em> and wrote the found-footage sci-fi film <em>Europa Report<\/em>, and <strong>Morgan Galen King<\/strong>, who directed a rotoscoped fantasy short called <em>Exordium<\/em> in 2013. The press release says it is \u201cset in a fantasy land ripe with magic and intrigue where a dark force is unleashed sending\u00a0mankind into an age of ruin.
