Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>y marriage, study finds<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>There\u2019s a new scientific twist on marital bliss.<\/p>\n<p>A variation in DNA could determine a person\u2019s ability to experience high levels of gratitude, trust and satisfaction during the first few years of a marriage, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedaily.com\/releases\/2021\/02\/210218160404.htm\">a recent study suggests.<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter the wedding, most people hope to remain satisfied in their marriage forever,\u201d the study\u2019s lead author and University of Arkansas psychology professor Anastasia Makhanova told The Post. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut maintaining a high level of satisfaction in a relationship for an extended amount of time is difficult.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A decrease in marital satisfaction over time is common in most relationships, veteran couple\u2019s therapist Rachel Sussman told The Post.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Financial issues, changes to the family dynamic and even stresses stemming from the current pandemic can all contribute to lower marital satisfaction, according to Sussman.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, as Makhanova\u2019s study found: \u201cSome people might have a genetic predisposition to intuitively feel more grateful for their partner, be more trusting of their partner and enjoy more long-term satisfaction in their marriage than others.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Her research team analyzed 142 newlyweds, or 71 couples, during the first three years of marriage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>They found that individuals with a \u201cCC variation\u201d to the CD38 gene \u2014 which has been linked to positive behaviors and perceptions in romantic relationships \u2014 enjoyed higher levels of marital satisfaction than men and women with an \u201cAC\u201d or \u201cAA\u201d variation of the gene.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In this study, the \u201cA\u201d and the \u201cC\u201d represented the different alleles that determined the variant forms of the CD38 gene.<\/p>\n<p>At the start of the study, researchers collected DNA samples from each newlywed within three months of their wedding day.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The couples also completed in-depth questionnaires that assessed their thoughts on relationship satisfaction with their new husband or wife.<\/p>\n<p>Participants then agreed to complete a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp;
