But there is still much to do, said Phil Long, the organization\u2019s president and founder of Longevity Wines in Livermore, California.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are thousands and thousands of wineries in this country\u2026 and out of those wineries, what are there, a couple of dozen that are Black-owned,\u201d said Long.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnce I realized how few there were and I started understanding the non-diverse landscape, that\u2019s when it became more of an element of who I am,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Long, and his late wife, Debra, created Longevity, vowing to be inclusive after an unsettling experience at a winery in Santa Barbara. Blige and John Legend, and NBA star Dwyane Wade.<\/p>\n<p>Kristin Braswell\u2019s company CrushGlobal <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Travel<\/a> launched virtual wine tastings during the pandemic lockdown after seeing the need to speak to a Black audience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust as the Black traveler is not a monolith, neither is the Black wine drinker and so I felt like this was a great opportunity\u2026 to show the wine industry we are interested in drinking wine, traveling, learning and purchasing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In February, several of the world\u2019s premiere Black-owned wine brands participated in the virtual International Winemakers Summit, and shared their experiences of racism and hope within the wine community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re out there doing what we can to show\u2026 that our place is very much valid like anybody else\u2019s in this industry,\u201d said Nyarai Cellars owner Steve Byfield.\n            <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
