A smartphone and a laptop\u2014many of us have these two gadgets in our lives. If they happ<\/a>en to be an Android phone and a Chromebook, the Phone Hub feature makes them work together. We\u2019ll show you how it works.<\/p>\n

The \u201cPhone Hub\u201d feature was introduced in Chrome OS 89. It allows you to more seamlessly move between your phone and laptop. That includes synced notifications and controlling certain things on your phone from<\/em> your Chromebook.<\/p>\n

First, you need to connect your Android phone to your Chromebook through the computer\u2019s Settings menu. To do so, click the clock on your Chromebook\u2019s navigation bar (known as the \u201cShelf\u201d) to bring up the Quick Settings panel. Select the gear icon to open the Settings.<\/p>\n

In the Settings menu, go to the \u201cConnected Devices\u201d tab in the sidebar.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll see \u201cAndroid Phone\u201d listed here. Click the \u201cSet Up\u201d button to begin the process.<\/p>\n

A new window will open with a drop-down menu that lists the active Android devices\u00a0associated with your Google account. Select the one that you want to use and click \u201cAccept & Continue.\u201d<\/p>\n

Enter your Google account\u2019s password and click \u201cDone.\u201d<\/p>\n

If your devices communicate and authenticate correctly, the two will be connected. Click \u201cDone\u201d to return to your Chromebook\u2019s Settings menu.<\/p>\n

Your phone\u2019s name will now be listed in the \u201cConnected Devices\u201d section. Select it to proceed.<\/p>\n

Here are all the settings that pertain to your connected Android device. First, make sure that \u201cPhone Hub\u201d is toggled on.<\/p>\n
