{"id":201459,"date":"2021-03-13T00:11:12","date_gmt":"2021-03-12T21:11:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/broadway-stars-lead-impromptu-times-square-performance\/"},"modified":"2021-03-13T00:11:12","modified_gmt":"2021-03-12T21:11:12","slug":"broadway-stars-lead-impromptu-times-square-performance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/broadway-stars-lead-impromptu-times-square-performance\/","title":{"rendered":"#Broadway stars lead impromptu Times Square performance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Broadway stars lead impromptu Times Square performance<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Times Square looked like its bustling old self on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>After a full year of New York musicals and plays being dark, Broadway artists commemorated the occasion by putting on a starry surprise concert for a small-but-mighty crowd in the middle of the Theater District.<\/p>\n<p>Its defiant message for an industry that has been pummeled by the COVID-19 pandemic was made clear by the event\u2019s title:\u00a0\u201cWe Will Be Back.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a time to reflect on what we\u2019ve lost and who we\u2019ve lost over the past year, and recall how far we\u2019ve come,\u201d Tom Harris, acting president of the Times Square Alliance, told The Post. \u201cJust think \u2014 a couple of short months ago, we had 35,000 people walking through Times Square [a day]. James, and backed by spirited dancers. All wore masks or face shields.<\/p>\n<p>Friday wasn\u2019t the first time Broadway has gathered in Times Square to show strength during hard times. Andrew Cuomo declared a ban on events of greater than 500 people. The hiatus was supposed to last one month.
