The Queens woman fatally shot when she was caught in the crossfire of two warring gangs was a devoted mother whose \u201cgreatest joy was her family,\u201d grief-stricken relatives said Saturday as they urged an end to the senseless violence plaguing their neighborhood.<\/p>\n

Gudelia Vallinas, 37 was out shopping for her son and daughter when she was fatally struck in the head by gunfire around 8:15 p.m. Friday, at the intersection of Broadway and 48th Street, cops and her family said. Her killers were two gangs who have been feuding in the Woodside Houses, sources told The Post.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have to thank God. It was an accident. We need to forgive these people,\u201d said father-in-law Miguel Vallinas. \u201cI don\u2019t feel hate towards the people who did this.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cThe only thing we want is more control of weapons in this area\u2026\u201dIt\u2019s really sad. Really sad.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cShe is in good hands, in God\u2019s hands now,\u201d he continued, adding that it\u2019s unclear yet if she\u2019ll be buried in the family\u2019s native Mexico.<\/p>\n

The victim\u2019s brother-in-law cut the interview short because the family was grieving. Relatives said Gudelia lived in the area for most of her life, and cleaned houses for a living.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe kids know right now\u2026right now we\u2019re still trying to comprehend what\u2019s happ<\/a>ened,\u201d the brother-in-law added.<\/p>\n

Police got a 911 call Friday night from a resident of the public housing complex, saying that about five or six teenagers in two groups were exchanging gunfire as they chased each other through the building, according to sources.<\/p>\n

\u201cI heard the gunshots, like 5 or 6 gunshots. I hear somebody screaming there\u2019s a lady down on the floor,\u201d witness Zal Alradai said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then I came out, and all I see was blood on the floor. It was so loud, all I heard was pop, pop, pop, pop, pop \u2026 it was unbelievable. All you heard was cops coming like crazy,\u201d the witness said.<\/p>\n

When the shootout spilled onto the street, Vallinas became an unintended target.<\/p>\n

She was pronounced dead at Elmhurst Hospital, cops said. <\/p>\n

A neighbor who heard the shots blamed the violence on the city\u2019s\u00a0controversial bail reform\u00a0measure.<\/p>\n

Residents on Saturday begged for more cops in the area. <\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of things have been going on, shootings, robberies, there is crime everywhere and it\u2019s too much. And they\u2019re trying to take the cops off the street? We need the cops on the street. Stop and frisk should happen,\u201d Natasha Jones said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
