Manhattan\u2019s elite Grace Church School recently issued a 12-page guide<\/a> that takes the inevitable next step in rampant \u201cwokeism:\u201d To promote inclusion, the NoHo prep school is encouraging students to stop using the words \u201cmom,\u201d \u201cdad\u201d and even \u201cparents.\u201d This isn\u2019t just hogwash, but something far worse.<\/p>\n

\u201cFamilies are formed and structured in many ways. At Grace Church School, we use inclusive language that reflects this diversity,\u201d smarms the guide. That is, because some families are different, it\u2019s rude to get into too much detail about your family. <\/p>\n

So much for celebrating difference: Now you\u2019re literally not supposed to speak words that remotely acknowledge it.<\/p>\n

Go for \u201cgrown-ups,\u201d \u201cfolks,\u201d \u201cfamily\u201d or \u201cguardians\u201d instead of \u201cmom and dad\u201d or even \u201cmy two mommies.\u201d Drop \u201cnanny\u201d for \u201ccaregiver.\u201d The guide spells out a host of \u201cmore app<\/a>ropriate terms\u201d relating to gender, sexual orientation, race and ethnicity. <\/p>\n

This is an actual trend. In the UK, the University of Manchester has also scrapped the words \u201cmother\u201d<\/a> and \u201cfather\u201d for \u201cguardians.\u201d Its guide also nixes \u201celderly,\u201d \u201cpensioners\u201d and \u201cyoungsters\u201d for sterile terms such as \u201cover-65s, 75s and so on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Seriously: This isn\u2019t about sensitivity, it\u2019s about thought control and a fundamentally totalitarian project. As Glenn Harlan Reynolds wrote recently in The Post, it\u2019s time to stop playing along with these people\u2019s delusion that this stuff is \u201cdeeply moral\u201d and call it out for the power trip<\/a> it actually is. <\/p>\n
