World-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma got his second shot of the COVID-19 vaccine Saturday \u2014 and turned the Massachusetts vaccination site into a concert hall.<\/p>\n

Instead of sitting quietly during the 15-minute post-jab monitoring period, Ma played a brief concert as he waited at Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield.<\/p>\n

The playlist included Franz Schubert\u2019s \u201cAve Maria,\u201d according to an Instagram post <\/a>from the school.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday at the #MyBCC vaccination clinic, the folks waiting for 15 minutes in observation were graced with the musical talents of the one and only Yo-Yo Ma,\u201d the caption reads. <\/p>\n

The 65-year-old musician can be seen in videos sitting in the waiting area \u2014 masked and social<\/a>ly distanced \u2014 gracefully playing his cello while his audience looks in awe. <\/p>\n

At the end of his performance, onlookers app<\/a>laud, and Ma who thanks them by waving, video shows. <\/p>\n

ABC News reported<\/a> a nurse who gave Ma the shot asked him if he could stay and play the cello to those during the 15-minute observation. <\/p>\n

Ma, a part-time Berkshires resident, was delighted to give back to the community, Richard Hall of the Berkshire COVID-19 Vaccine Collaborative told The Berkshire Eagle<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Hall added, \u201cWhat a way to end the clinic.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
