Blue mask first, followed by a chic, understated black ninja mask, a sequin Aztec pattern or a simple printed proclamation such as \u2018VOTE!\u2019\u200a\u201d Why? The contrast effect signals that \u201cthe person is, in fact, wearing two masks, in case you were wondering.\u201d Another message they\u2019re sending: \u201cGet away from me! I watch too much <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> and I am unwell. Take me in your dwarven arms, Fauci, I\u2019m yours.\u201d A third: \u201cThey \u00adaspire to join a far more totalitarian society, and they\u2019ll go that extra mile, or layer of cloth, to be first in line.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the left: Weaponizing Identity Politics<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe harassment and smear campaign I have had to endure over the past year has destroyed my life,\u201d star New York Times reporter Taylor Lorenz whined. Yet, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/greenwald.substack.com\/p\/criticizing-public-figures-including\">observes Glenn Greenwald at his Substack blog<\/a>, she failed to mention \u201cthe lives she has harmed or otherwise deleteriously \u00adaffected with her massive journalistic platform.\u201d The tech reporter \u201chas been repeatedly caught fabricating claims about influential people\u201d and \u201cattempting to ruin the reputations and lives of decidedly non-famous people.\u201d Noting that she \u201cshould stop fabricating accusations\u201d and \u201cmonitoring the private acts of non-public people\u201d isn\u2019t harassment, yet such absurd claims are now \u201ccommonplace\u201d among the rich and powerful. It\u2019s \u201cideological exploitation of identity politics to shield\u201d the guardians of \u201cthe neoliberal order.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the right: Dems\u2019 Bid To Coerce Voters<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By winning control of the House, Senate and White House, \u201cDemocrats created an opportunity to make it easier for them to win in the future and harder for anyone to criticize them,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/editorials\/hr-1-is-not-pro-democracy-its-pro-coercion\">lament the Washington Examiner\u2019s editors<\/a>. That\u2019s what HR 1 \u2014 their \u201cFor the People Act\u201d \u2014 would do: It would \u201coverride state election laws\u201d and \u201cnationalize the administration of elections\u201d; require groups to disclose campaign expenditures of $10,000, curbing criticism of politicians; \u201cnormalize ballot-harvesting,\u201d thus opening the door to \u201ccoercion\u201d of voters; and force taxpayers to fund politicians\u2019 campaigns. It seems Democrats believe \u201cmore in coercion than in freedom and debate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Libertarian: Cali Recall No Threat to Democracy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A petition to recall California Gov. Gavin Newsom has reportedly \u201csurpassed the 1.5 million signatures needed for a special election,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/reason.com\/2021\/03\/09\/no-a-potential-recall-of-californias-governor-is-not-a-threat-to-democracy\/\">notes Reason\u2019s Scott Shackford<\/a>. That has prompted pushback from the likes of Sen. Bernie Sanders, who claims the campaign is an extremist Republican attempt to \u201cundermine democracy\u201d and punish Newsom for \u201cthe crime of telling people to wear masks.\u201d Huh? Writes Shackford: \u201cFar from being a threat to democracy, the recall is a way for citizens to respond when an elected official is not doing what they were sent to office to do.\u201d And \u201cin a state where the number of registered Democrats is now nearly twice the number of Republicans, a potentially successful recall petition should be seen as a great big red flag that Newsom\u2019s decisions this past year do not match the citizens\u2019 needs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ex-cheerleader: Don\u2019t Punt Football \u2018First Ladies\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Washington Football Team faces accusations of \u201charassment,\u201d but that\u2019s no reason to scrap its cheerleading squad, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/03\/10\/the-washington-football-team-is-foolishly-sacrificing-cheerleaders-to-save-public-image\/\">argues former Redskins cheerleader Jillian Anderson at The Federalist<\/a>. Cheerleaders \u201care a staple in the communities they represent\u201d and athletes in their own right who \u201cdeserve the dream to go pro without being robbed by organizations\u201d that can\u2019t discipline themselves or \u201ccontrol their public image.\u201d Instead of taking jobs from \u201cthe 60-plus-year legacy cheerleading squad known as the First Ladies of Football,\u201d the team and owner Dan Snyder \u201cneed to be held accountable for their actions and right the wrongs.\u201d For them to hire \u201cmore men to help public sexual-harassment issues seems like a very funny Band-Aid\u201d for the scandal, but it\u2019s \u201cultimately more about money and public perception than solving the franchise\u2019s actual problems.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>\u2014 Compiled by The Post Editorial Board<\/em>\n            <\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
