Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a>e\u2019s valuation soars to $95 billion after $600 million funding round<br \/>\n<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"article__subhead\" itemprop=\"alternativeHeadline\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Digital-payments_company_to_invest_in_its_European_operations\"><\/span>\n  Digital-payments company to invest in its European operations<br \/>\n<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"column column--full article__content\">\n<div id=\"js-article__body\" class=\"article__body article-wrap at16-col16 barrons-article-wrap\" itemprop=\"articleBody\" data-sbid=\"WP-MKTW-0000198859\">\n<div class=\"barrons-article-ad-wrapper\">\n<div data-track=\"barrons-article-ad-wrap\" class=\"barrons-article-ad sticky_item\">\n<div class=\"barrons-main-article-ad-target sticky_target body_ad\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>       Digital-payments company Stripe said Sunday it had closed a $600 million funding round that values the company at $95 billion \u2014 more than double its valuation a year ago.<\/p>\n<p> Stripe said it would use the money to beef up its European operations \u2014 especially its co-headquarters in Dublin \u2014 and \u201csupport surging demand from enterprise heavyweights across Europe, and expand its Global Payments and Treasury Network.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       Thirty-one of the 42 countries where Stripe operates are in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re investing a ton more in Europe this year, particularly in Ireland,\u201d Stripe co-founder and President John Collison said in a statement. \u201cWhether in fintech, mobility, retail or SaaS, the growth opportunity for the European digital economy is immense.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Barron\u2019s reported Stripe was seeking additional financing, with a valuation goal of around $100 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Last April, Stripe received roughly $600 million in financing <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/stripe-fundraising-600-million-1f1f38b6-fde6-4316-b111-2f3b0e868ab7.html\" class=\"icon none\">at a valuation of $36 billion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The company, which has a dual headquarters in San Francisco, had raised a total of about $1.6 billion in 14 funding rounds before Sunday\u2019s announcement, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.crunchbase.com\/organization\/stripe\" class=\"icon none\">according to Crunchbase<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Stripe said the primary investors for the latest funding round include Allianz X, Axa, Baillie Gifford, Fidelity Management &amp;
