{"id":202196,"date":"2021-03-15T04:17:35","date_gmt":"2021-03-15T01:17:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/nyc-holds-covid-19-memorial-one-year-after-first-virus-death\/"},"modified":"2021-03-15T04:17:35","modified_gmt":"2021-03-15T01:17:35","slug":"nyc-holds-covid-19-memorial-one-year-after-first-virus-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/nyc-holds-covid-19-memorial-one-year-after-first-virus-death\/","title":{"rendered":"#NYC holds COVID-19 memorial one year after first virus death"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#NYC holds COVID-19 memorial one year after first virus death<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>New York City honored the 30,000 residents who died of coronavirus in a remembrance ceremony Sunday night that featured faces of the pandemic\u2019s victims projected in light on the Brooklyn Bridge.<\/p>\n<p>The virtual memorial, called, \u201cA COVID-19 Day of Remembrance,\u201d was held on the one-year anniversary of the city\u2019s first known coronavirus death.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery morning, the first thing I see is a list,\u201d Mayor Bill de Blasio said at the ceremony. \u201cAnd there are numbers on it. But what it really means, is how many people we lost.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday that number is more than 30,000. It\u2019s a number we can barely imagine,\u201d the mayor said.<\/p>\n<p>But, de Blasio said, the memory of those lost will carry on forever.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery single one of them. Everyone we\u2019ve lost \u2014 what they did goes on. So I just said, \u2018I\u2019ll talk to you later.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo this day, I regret not giving him that hug.
