“#Anderson .Paak Wins Best Melodic Rap Performance at 2021 Grammys<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Anderson .Paak has won the 2021 Grammy Award for Best Melodic Rap Performance. .Paak\u2019s \u201cLockdown\u201d beat out songs by Travis Scott (\u201cHIGHEST IN THE ROOM\u201d), DaBaby and Roddy Ricch (\u201cROCKSTAR\u201d), Drake and Lil Durk (\u201cLaugh Now Cry Later\u201d), and Roddy Ricch (\u201cThe Box\u201d).<\/p>\n

Anderson .Paak\u2019s \u201cLockdown\u201d single was nominated in the Best Music Video category this year, too. (The Grammy went to Beyonc\u00e9 for \u201cBROWN SKIN GIRL.\u201d) The Dave Meyers-directed visual arrived last summer, featuring cameos from Syd, Jay Rock, Andra Day, Dominic Fike, and others. It focused on theme<\/a>s of police brutality, racial injustice, and protest. It ended with a list of multiple victims of police brutality, including George Floyd and Breonna Taylor.<\/p>\n
