House Speaker Nancy Pelosi now admits that the mess on the border involves more than \u201clove,\u201d but her laughable fallback is that the \u201cchallenge\u201d is all former President Donald Trump\u2019s fault. <\/p>\n

Somehow, President Joe Biden\u2019s loud reversal of his predecessor\u2019s policies isn\u2019t why nearly as many children crossed last month as in all of 2020<\/em>. It\u2019s bad, so it\u2019s on Trump.<\/p>\n

What Biden \u201cinherited is a broken system at the border,\u201d Pelosi said on ABC this weekend, and had to fix it \u201cin the children\u2019s interest,\u201d which has created this \u201chumanitarian challenge.\u201d <\/p>\n

In other words, a surge that\u2019s forced Biden to call in the Federal Emergency Management Agency for help in handling the kids is just part of \u201ca transition from what was wrong before to what is right.\u201d <\/p>\n

Up is down, black is white and war is peace, she might as well have continued.<\/p>\n

Sorry: \u201cWrong\u201d is encouraging the desperate to make the perilous and illegal journey north. There\u2019s nothing \u201cright\u201d about basically inviting people the government can\u2019t handle to flood in. <\/p>\n

Customs and Border Protection is seeing nearly double the tide from a year ago and already holds a record high of 4,200 kids in its facilities as of Sunday, up 31 percent in a week and headed higher. Children now spend an average of 107 hours in cramped quarters critics deride as \u201cjail-like.\u201d <\/p>\n

And Team Biden won\u2019t let reporters see the detention facilities or install cameras. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki promises she\u2019ll arrange for journalists to visit but refuses to set a date.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the president is going to Pennsylvania and Georgia to trumpet his $1.9 trillion stimulus bill on his \u201cHope Is Here\u201d tour. Psaki confirms he has no plans to visit any border state.<\/p>\n

He probably doesn\u2019t want to see his policies\u2019 impact. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy just went down and reports it\u2019s not only Central Americans heeding Biden\u2019s invitation, but also illegal migrants from Iran, Yemen, Sri Lanka, China and other countries, including suspected terrorists.<\/p>\n

Terrorists? Don\u2019t be surprised if that prompts Pelosi to next say it must be all President George W. Bush\u2019s fault.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
