The sister of North Korea leader Kim Jong Un warned the Biden administration on Monday that military actions near the country\u2019s border could make Americans \u201close sleep,\u201d state media<\/a> reported Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The statement was delivered Tuesday by Kim Yo-jong in Pyongyang\u2019s official Rodong Sinmun news<\/a>paper \u2014 and comes after the US last week began joint military exercises with South Korea.<\/p>\n

In the statement, Jong offered \u201ca word of advice to the new administration of the United States that is struggling to spread the smell of gunpowder on our land.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you wish to sleep well for the next four years, it would be better not to create work from the start that will make you lose sleep,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The comments were North Korea\u2019s first reference to Biden since his election, but did not name him.<\/p>\n

Two of the president\u2019s top administration officials, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin and Secretary of State Antony Blinken, arrived in Japan on Monday as part of a four-day trip to reiterate America\u2019s commitment to its allies in the face of China\u2019s expanding influence in the region.<\/p>\n

The visit is the first overseas trip for the two Biden cabinet members, who will also meet their counterparts in Seoul.<\/p>\n

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said Monday that the US government has reached out to North Korea, but have not heard back.<\/p>\n
