aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>       President Joe Biden said for the first time Tuesday that he\u2019s in favor of tweaking Senate filibuster rules that threaten to derail his agenda.<\/p>\n<p> In an interview with ABC <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a>\u2019 George Stephanopoulos, Biden said he supported the so-called talking filibuster that requires more effort for the minority party to block legislation.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       \u201cI don\u2019t think that you have to eliminate the filibuster, you have to do what it used to be when I first got to the Senate back in the old days,\u201d Biden said. \u201cYou had to stand up and command the floor, you had to keep talking.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked if that meant he was supporting the talking filibuster, Biden replied: \u201cI am.\u201d<\/p>\n<div And with little bipartisan cooperation seen so far, Republican filibusters could deny most of Biden\u2019s major legislative priorities.<\/p>\n<p>Biden had previously said he didn\u2019t want to eliminate the filibuster, as many liberal Democrats are urging. West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin, a conservative Democrat and a key swing vote in the Senate, has said he\u2019s open to changing the filibuster rules to make it \u201cmore painful,\u201d though he does not support eliminating it.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier Tuesday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., threatened to grind the Senate to a halt if any changes to the filibuster rules are made. \u201cThe Senate would be more like a hundred-car pileup.
