Groupe Casino <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.groupe-casino.fr\/groupe\/presentation\/\">oversees<\/a> more than 11,000 stores in France and Latin America. <\/p>\n<p>The coin has reportedly been developed using the Tezos protocol in partnership with crypto exchange Coinhouse, accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, stablecoin infrastructure provider Sceme, research and development firm Nomadic Labs, and financial services group Societe <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">General<\/a>e.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2021-03\/518bc389-39ec-4951-a339-71305abda350.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Source:\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/gregory_raymond\/status\/1372224822055464966\">Gr\u00e9gory Raymond<\/a><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The new stablecoin, called the Lugh \u2014 named after a god in Irish mythology \u2014 will go by the ticker symbol EURL. The initial offering will reportedly include 500,000 coins available exclusively on Coinhouse for \u201ca few months\u201d until the test phase is complete, and then on other platforms.<\/p>\n<p>The Bank of France has been active in developing a stablecoin pegged to the euro. The country recently\u00a0completed a pilot program for a digital euro issued from its central bank in December.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As one of the Big Four accounting firms, PricewaterhouseCoopers, or PwC, has backed some projects in the crypto space related to stablecoins. Three years ago, the firm partnered with decentralized lending platform Cred for the launch of its U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin.
