The Issue: A 37-year-old woman who was killed by a stray bullet in front of her home in Queens.<\/strong><\/p>\n

How many more innocent people, and specifically mothers, is Mayor de Blasio willing to sacrifice in the name of the defund-the-police movement (\u201cStray shot kills mom,\u201d March 14)?<\/p>\n

To see a 37-year-old woman senselessly killed because gang-member punks think it\u2019s OK to fire weapons on a public street is unforgivable. Two more young children now have to grow up without a mother. Does this count for something?<\/p>\n

Mayor Rudy Giulani showed how to solve the problem by getting guns off the street. But, of course, de Blasio had to disband the task force that so successfully did the job.<\/p>\n

Can the people of this city understand once and for all that to elect another Democrat when de Blasio\u2019s reign is over will mean more of the same? <\/p>\n

With the killing of innocent mom Gudelia Vallinas, another senseless death has occurred in New York City.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s time for the de Blasio administration to crack down on crime.<\/p>\n

Hire more cops, and let the Guardian Angels assist. It\u2019s not even safe to take a subway ride any more. <\/p>\n

Who could not feel the anguish for the senseless death of Gudelia Vallinas or feel the rage at the radical politicians who created the situation and allowed crime to skyrocket?<\/p>\n

Shootings are up 50 percent all over the city. Working-class residents are just pawns in the Democrats\u2019 woke agenda to close all jails and defund the police. To what end?<\/p>\n

We all know that harassment and assaults on women have been tolerated from the top down for a very long time.<\/p>\n

However, that needs to change now. We need to wake up and vote every one of the Democrats out of office and right this ship. <\/p>\n

De Blasio and the social<\/a>-justice-warrior prosecutors and politicians have turned New York City into a criminal paradise.<\/p>\n

The streets are a filthy, disgusting mess, plagued by garbage and crime. It\u2019s not safe to ride the trains or take the subway.<\/p>\n

Housing projects have become war zones, and zero effort has been made by the Democrats overwhelmingly elected to serve the people in these communities.<\/p>\n

When will New Yorkers look around and realize they are alone in the war on crime and punishment? The people they have elected year after year are a colossal failure. <\/p>\n

The Issue: Matthew Hennessy\u2019s column on why Generation X needs to stand against cancel culture.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s not Millennials making the decision to cancel everything; it\u2019s CEOs who are bowing down to the few snowflakes (\u201cGen X, Stand Up!\u201d Matthew Hennessey, Post\u00adScript<\/a>, March 14).<\/p>\n

All I hear are people who are against what\u2019s going on, yet big corporations keep on banning. The question is: Why are they so afraid of the minority of Millennials?<\/p>\n

We had a saying growing up: \u201cSticks and stones will brake my bones, but names could never hurt me.\u201d <\/p>\n

Cancel culture is indeed a force to be reckoned with, but why is the freedom of speaking your mind only applicable to you, and not those who have something to say about your ignorance?<\/p>\n

Members of Generation X are not our superiors. It is not your responsibility to scold us.<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t need to wage any cultural wars. We don\u2019t need you to do anything on our behalf.<\/p>\n

Thanks, but you can take your unsolicited worries back to the 1980s. <\/p>\n
