In fact, several competitions are unusually tight at this year\u2019s Academy Awards. This week in Gold Digger, The Post\u2019s analysis of the Oscars shuffle, we dive into one of the closest: Best Supporting Actress.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_Youn_Yuh-jung_%E2%80%9CMinari%E2%80%9D\"><\/span>1. But most notably, in a departure from the Golden Globes, Youn and her co-star Steven Yeun were respectively nominated for Best Supporting Actress and Best Actor \u2014 becoming the first Korean actors to ever be nominated at the Oscars. (Remember, the cast of \u201cParasite\u201d was egregiously snubbed even though their movie was victorious.) While Yeun likely won\u2019t win against Chadwick Boseman (\u201cMa Rainey\u2019s Black Bottom\u201d), Supporting Actress has no obvious shoo-ins. Youn has every reason to start practicing that speech.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Olivia_Colman_%E2%80%9CThe_Father%E2%80%9D\"><\/span>2. Think back to Oscars night 2019, when the world waited with bated breath to see if Lady Gaga or Glenn Close would win Best Actress. Instead, we heard a third name: \u201cOlivia Colman!\u201d The British vet\u2019s widely admired performance in \u201cThe Favourite\u201d likely benefitted from voters\u2019 split affections for Close and Gaga. This time around, there\u2019s plenty of love for Colman again. The newcomer of the category is 24-year-old Bulgarian actress Maria Bakalova, who burst into Hollywood last year as Borat\u2019s outspoken daughter Tutar in \u201cBorat Subsequent Moviefilm.\u201d Somehow, while sharing the screen with Sacha Baron-Cohen, Bakalova stole the movie. The Oscars, though, still have a hard time honoring comedy. Awkwafina wasn\u2019t nominated last year for her dramedic performance in \u201cThe Farewell,\u201d and Melissa McCarthy lost this same category in 2011 for her work in \u201cBridesmaids.\u201d For Bakalova to win would take a big shift.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Amanda_Seyfried_%E2%80%9CMank%E2%80%9D\"><\/span>4. That\u2019s a shame, especially for Amanda Seyfried.  The actress\u2019 performance as Marion Davies is some of her finest work ever, but enthusiasm isn\u2019t on her side. She didn\u2019t even manage an equivalent Screen Actors Guild Award nomination, and actors are the biggest voting bloc at the Oscars.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_Glenn_Close_%E2%80%9CHillbilly_Elegy%E2%80%9D\"><\/span>5. Critics loathed \u201cHillbilly Elegy,\u201d and Close\u2019s performance as an <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a>alachian grandma with a supersized personality has as many admirers as it does detractors.
